The fallacy of being fearless
Do you have something in the back of your mind that just keeps bugging you? You know, that one thing that you avoid because it scares you. However, you just know it’s the right thing to do because it would do wonders for your life or business. We usually refer to these things as “shoulds”. We often say things like “I should be…” and they are usually followed up with “but…”. Yeah, the ‘but” is always out there. The common view on these items is that we are to have complete lack of fear for us to take the appropriate action. Oh what a mistake that is!
It’s no secret that fear is driving much of society’s behavior in the uncertainty of today. From my point of view I see sickness, stress, desperation, divorce, despondency, and a whole host of other negative environments on the rise. I actually didn’t like doing the research for this article. Being someone that enjoys life, it makes me uncomfortable to unearth and deal with the “dark side” of life. My purpose though doesn’t allow for me to just stand by and see it all happening either. I believe that if we have the means or “talent” to make a difference (which I believe we all do in some capacity), then it is now our responsibility to do so.
