Looking for a GREAT business book? 12/22/2011
If you don't know Dave Ramsey, I'm sure you have seen or heard of him. He's primarily known for his Financial Advice. If you have not heard his radio show, you can download podcasts from iTunes. His particular style is straightforward and jovial at times. He doesn't think twice about letting someone know if he perceives a person's decision was "stupid". Of course he is quick to point out that many of the mistakes people have made with their finances are ones that he has made at sometime himself. I was first introduced to him through our Church. They were doing his Financial Peace University and, well, Amy and I needed it. I can't say that we are Financially Free as of yet like so many of Dave's callers do on Fridays, but I can say it has made a difference so far. From that introduction, I was of course intrigued when I saw his new book come out this fall called EntreLeadership. It is his self proclaimed "20 years of Practical Business Wisdom from the Trenches". Not only does the book have a load of great stuff, it also comes with links on his site for additional resources! If you have a business, run a business, or are thinking of doing it; you owe it to yourself to read this one. I did, and I am glad I did. You can get it from Amazon here. The Four Energies for Better Results 04/20/2011
By Spencer Combs
There are four basic energies that we must harness, nurture, and condition routinely if we want to accelerate our results. If your desire is to maintain status quo, then this is not the article for you. If you are one of the many that are sick and tired of being stale, then read on. In a Rut 03/24/2011
by Spencer Combs
By far, the most unappealing and disastrous patterns in our lives or business is the ease in which we can fall into a rut. If life gets too uncertain, the rut is a great place to create enough security to keep us safe. As you read this, you actually are in a rut in some part of your life. Whether it’s your health on “cruise control” or your career just keeping the normal pace you have a rut. I only know this because we all have an area that we have put in maintenance mode while we focus on another. It is only natural. This article however is not geared just toward that natural cycle. It is geared toward the reader that feels an overwhelming sense of “ruttism” in all areas of their lives. It’s one thing to be positive or negative, but it’s even worse to just be neutral. Are there benefits to being in a rut? Sure, here are some of them… M-Powered Relationship Workshop Intro... 02/02/2011

Lessons from Granny Doris (A Tribute) 01/28/2011
Today I go to Charleston, SC to pay my respect to Doris Shriver (Granny Doris). In the midst of having a loss it's easy to focus on the part that is missing. I thought it would be useful to all of us for me to share a a quick video about the lesson I learned and plan to carry forward. It is very relevant in today's environment of massive uncertainty. How do you move forward? What can Granny Doris' life testify to us in moving forward? Watch the video here...
If you are working on a new year’s resolution or “turning over a new leaf” for 2011 you have got to read this first. Why is this a must? After working with a multitude of people over the greater part of a decade I have a few nuggets of caution and suggestions.
The magical event of January 1st always carries with it the promise and hope of a new start. We are ready to put one year behind us and anticipating great things for our future. This is a great place to be mentally. To really take advantage of this seasonal “high”, I have compiled a few thoughts that will help put some longevity to your new “resolutions”.
