It’s no secret that fear is driving much of society’s behavior in the uncertainty of today. From my point of view I see sickness, stress, desperation, divorce, despondency, and a whole host of other negative environments on the rise.I actually didn’t like doing the research for this article. Being someone that enjoys life, it makes me uncomfortable to unearth and deal with the “dark side” of life. My purpose though doesn’t allow for me to just stand by and see it all happening either. I believe that if we have the means or “talent” to make a difference (which I believe we all do in some capacity), then it is now our responsibility to do so.
Since fear is the driving force for so many right now, how do we move ourselves from fear into action? That is the million dollar question.I have spent the greater part of a decade now helping people do just that; essentially moving someone’s life strategy from playing on defense (fear) to playing on offense (purpose).
The simple answer to combat all of the negativity...
How many times have you started a diet, a new way of thinking, or tried something new and then a setback occurs and you just go back to the way you were?
Don’t worry, you are not the only one!
Setbacks and difficulties occur all of the time – they are a natural activity of life.
If any of these situations apply to you, you need a Breakthrough Session:
Lost job opportunities because of nervousness
Unmanageable urges to eat
Irrational fears
Unable to move forward due to a traumatic incident(s) (Divorce, lost love one, rape, bankruptcy, etc...)
Phone reluctance
Feelings of inadequacy
Feeling "torn" between opposing views
and many more...
Are you ready to make the changes necessary to create massive results in your life, but don’t want to spend days in coaching sessions doing it? Are you tired of your current situation and need a personal breakthrough to make things happen in your life?
It is of common knowledge that any new endeavor carries with it an element of the “unknown”.Assuming that you have made the decision to get past the fear of moving forward, how do you deal with the process until you get where you are going? Many times the gap between where we are and where we would like to be is an uncomfortable place to be in, and in today’s society patience has little exercise. We want the results, but we don’t like the process. We want the health, but we don’t like the exercise. We want the wealth, but we don’t like the budgeting. We want the relationship, but we don’t like the changes needed. How do we deal with the chaos in that gap?The answer comes in three steps:

Do you have something in the back of your mind that just keeps bugging you?You know, that one thing that you avoid because it scares you. However, you just know it’s the right thing to do because it would do wonders for your life or business. We usually refer to these things as “shoulds”.We often say things like “I should be…” and they are usually followed up with “but…”.Yeah, the ‘but” is always out there. The common view on these items is that we are to have complete lack of fear for us to take the appropriate action.Oh what a mistake that is!

Have you ever had a knot in your shoe lace? How do usually respond to that nuisance? Do you figure how did it get that way in the first place? Do you get frustrated and try to pull hard enough that the whole shoe ends up looking like the tongue is not even in the middle any more? Or do you just wait on someone else to show up and fix the problem for you? My experience shows that we all approach the same annoyance in a different way. Our youngest daughter this morning became the inspiration for this thought.
Did the title catch you? Good, because this is important. I will also warn you, this article is written in one of my more direct tones. This is a subject that I see people struggle with constantly. Well, not all people. Just the ones that are struggling with moving forward. You know who I am talking about; the ones always defending their current behavior. The ones who rationalize what is going on with them. There is one principle that explains this.
This is a short video where Spencer Combs explains briefly what's the difference between coaching, consulting, and counseling. Also he shares the 4 benefits of personal coaching with his team. Those benefits are focus, accountability / action, consistency in habits or systems, and personal growth.
